On 16 October, 2015, NABU representatives participated in the event held at the United Nations Headquarters by the ECOSOC division to commemorate the International Day for Eradication of Poverty (October 17th).

The gathering brought together representatives of various stakeholders in order to promote ending severe poverty around the world. The session highlighted some of the extreme cases from South America and Africa and emphasized the urgency to bring change to the lives of those affected by extreme poverty.

It s worth mentioning that the UN event was held at the same time as the 2015 Annual Meetings of the Boards of Governors of the World Bank Group (WB) and the International Monetary Fund (IMF). The latter event also included poverty reduction in developing countries as one of its final goals.
